RAGNE SIGMOND – Stranded

Description

The pictures of Ragne Kristine Sigmond’s invites you to wonder. ‘Does he really hover?’ ‘Can such a dreamlike situation created during the actual shoot’? The answer is Yes. Ragnes staged photographs HAVE taken place in real life. In her fascination with models, both in the form of individuals as well as balloons, and locations which invites to fairy-tale picture stories, she has in this series created images that only require a little fine tuning in Photoshop after completing the shoot.
‘Once I promised myself, that I should never lose the joy of photographing! Recreational projects such as these keeps the creativity in progress and contributes to I not rust as a photographer in an otherwise teaching influenced daily life ‘the quest for light, lines and form contrasts are the governing factors in the creation process. The floating model multiply in glass balls which dominates the foreground in a manmade and graphically designed elemental beauty at a construction site. In another image, we see the silvery balloons mirrors itself in the pristine Norwegian nature a quiet mid summer night.
Ragne is born 1977, Norwegian, and trained as a photographer at the Media schools in Viborg, Denmark, where she now is teaching.
