Description

‘In my choice of subject I search the odd, the subjects which step apart and do not attract immediate attention. The back of the town, distinctive urban contexts, strange building structures, the 20th century, a century of industrial sites, etc. are my favorite designs, ’says Jesper Bo Jensen.
‘It is not an ambition to reproduce or mime reality, and the finished images are therefore never clean photographic records, but always an interpretation and processing of the subject, where this raw material is changed and reworked. I am fascinated by the cross field between reality and fiction, and I’m looking to offset the image from a credible reality, into a field where there may be questions about the picture’s truth value. Where the perception of the real world may be manipulated, and the creation of opportunities for new and different ways to see the well known find its way.
My goal is to create images that balances between the familiar and the worrying, and between the attractive and repulsive. And it is through the analysis, interpretation and processing this, that I develop my photographic technique.’
